Original diagnosis/description

Bracteoles broadly ovate, about half the length of sepals. Sepals ovate to triangular, slightly longer than corolla; petals partly fused, corolla tube-shaped, corolla lobes about half the length of corolla. Stamens shorter than corolla. Fruit almost spherical, subtended by the persistent, star-shaped calyx. Seed elliptical to obovate, slightly flattened laterally.

Etymology

In honour of the Danish scientist Niels Bohr on his centenary 7 October 1985.
