Original diagnosis/description

Simple, cylindrical thallus, without annulation. Cylindrical central stem. Branches of only one order enlarged in their central! zone with a metaspondile arrangement. Calcified cysts filling up the central stem.

Etymology

The new species is dedicated to Prof. Piero De Castro, Institut of Palentology of Neaples for his contribution to the knowledge of Dasycladaceans.
