Original diagnosis/description

Spores radial, trilete. Amb convexly subtriangular to near-circular. Laesurae distinct, simple, essentially straight, almost reaching equator, with or without slight terminal bifurcation (incipient curvaturae). Exine 0.9–1.2 μm thick; distal face and equatorial margin bearing ± regularly or irregularly distributed spinae and fewer coni 0.8–3.5 μm high, with acutely pointed to obtusely rounded apices and ± circular bases 0.8–2.2 μm in diameter, spaced ca. 1–17 μm apart.
