Original diagnosis/description
Microphyll leaf, margin erose, acrodromous primary venation, six basal veins plus a couple of suprabasal secondary veins, brochidodromous secondary venation, two or more perimarginal veins, intercostal venation opposite percurrent, course irregular, marginal ultimate venation looped.
Etymology
The specific epithet marambio is proposed in honor of Gustavo Argentino Marambio, a pilot from the Argentine Airforce and a pioneer of Antarctic explorations. His last name also corresponds to the island where the fossil material was discovered: Isla Marambio (=Seymour Island).
