Original diagnosis/description

Large, amphistomatic, lanceolate leaves with blunt apices. Venation is dense, 1–2 indistinct veins alternate with each thick vein. Adaxial and abaxial cuticles, oblong cells and stomata isolated from each other, separated in infrequent poorly defined stomatal rows.

Etymology

From the Sudetic region, the type region.
