Original diagnosis/description

Fruiting units elliptical in outline, with a slightly or strongly convex ventral margin; collapsed fruit wall typically not forming a wing-like rim around the seed. Epidermal cells offrait wall weakly papillate or non-papillate. Seed almost circular in outline, with micropylar area forming a short curved extension pointing towards the ventral margin. Cells of the outer layer of the seed wall cuboid, with small, angular lumina.

Etymology

In honour of C. Teixeira for his contribution to knowledge of the Portuguese Cretaceous floras.
