Original diagnosis/description

Bracteoles broad, usually longer than ovary, often with incised margin. Sepals elongated triangular, petals ligulate, slightly longer than sepals. Ovary campanulate with 10 indistinct longitudinal ridges.

Cretaceous, Upper Cretaceous
Fluviatile sequence resting on weathered bedrock and partly overlain by Campanian greensands (Upper Santonian or Lower Campanian)
