Original diagnosis/description

Strobili approximately 50 mm long and 5 mm wide, attached to an axis; claw-like sporophylls 2–5 mm long and up to 3 mm wide, apically pointed, short spines along margin; sporophylls attached perpendicularly then turning actuely upwords; bracts in base of strobili identical in shape to sporophylls; six sporangiophores adaxially to each sporophyll per node; sporangia elliptical approximately 1 mm long, spores of the Laevigatosporites minimus-type.
Foliage polyphyllous, trizygioid leaves of the form S. oblongifolium, anisophyllous verticils, laciniate leaves and leaves intermediate in form.
