Original diagnosis/description

Multi-ovulate cupule goblet-shaped, singly terminating a stalk, with basal two-third fused and distal one-third dissected into 16 linear tips. Outer surface of cupule smooth. Each cupule bearing two ovules at the fused lower part. The tops of the ovules belowthe bases of linear cupule tips. Synangiate pollen organ terminating isotomously divided fertile branches and consisting of three to six elongate microsporangia with round or tapered tips.

Etymology

The species is named after Mr. Dun-Lun Qi, for his great assistance to the study of Late Devonian plants in South China.
