Original diagnosis/description

Small spadices, 12 mm × 3 mm with a short stalk lacking a subtending spathe, bearing helically arranged perfect florets with bilocular anthers, trilocular ovaries and small orbicular stigmas. Floral envelope epidermis with paracytic stomata. Stalk epidermis of polygonal cells with thick anticlinal walls and no specific orientation, stomata infrequent or missing.
