Original diagnosis/description
Pedicellate fruit consisting of a nutlet with attached unlobed or trilobed wing. Pedicel tapering to an angular or rounded base. Apex of unlobed wing or apex of central wing lobe of trilobed wing mucronate to acuminate; base of wing often cordate. Sinus depth of trilobed wings variable. Nutlet locule divided basally into four chambers by primary and secondary septa of nearly equal thicknesses. Nutlet wall without lacunae.
