Original diagnosis/description

Narrow, hypostomatic, lanceolate leaves, dense venation, 1–2 thin veins alternate with each thick vein. Adaxial cuticles with oblong cells, abaxial cuticle with longitudinally oblong cells, stomata composed of 2 rhomboidal or oval polar, and 2 oblong lateral subsidiary cells, forming single or double stomatal rows.

Etymology

From Ida Gallery, the former name of the type locality.
