Types

Original diagnosis/description

Thallus branched dichotomously up to three times. Branches ranging 2.5–3.5 mm wide and 6–7 mm long. Undulate margins. Rounded apices. Prominent midrib. Cells of thallus wings elongated to isodiametric, pentagonal, and hexagonal, forming rows oriented obliquely to the
midrib. Upper surface of thallus bearing air pores surrounded by one concentric ring of 2–6 polygonal cells. Lower thallus surface with two rows of small scales, one on each side of the midrib. Sporophytes scattered or in ill-defined rows.

Etymology

The specific epithet refers to Un Salto creek, along which the specimens have been recovered.
