Original diagnosis/description
Subtending axes conspicuously short, very slightly widened just below sporangium. Sporangium reniform – elliptic, broader than high, in front view, ovoid in sagittal view, relatively smooth, isovalvate. Dehiscence line reaching typically upper 1/3 of sporangium.
Etymology
The species is named after Dr. Jiří Kříž, a Czech specialist on Silurian stratigraphy and palaeontology, who also found the holotype.
