Original diagnosis/description

Compound synangial organ, circular or irregular-square-ellipsoid, 15–20 mm wide. Organ attached by an excentrally positioned, narrow (0.3 mm) stalk consists of a conical part and a thick proximal cap, both with small swollen structures and a synangial proximal part. Proximal cap and outer cover vascularized, veins dichotomizing several times. Synangia, consisting of five to six cylindrical sporangia, are arranged in concentric rows. Sporangia ca. 2 mm long and 0.5 mm wide. Free sporangial tips extending from the distal surface of the organ. Sporangial dehiscence zone located along a line that presumably runs down the inner face. Trilete circular to oval microspores, exine granulate, verrucate to irregularly rugulate.
